M. Moseley Matheson, Esq.
Biography
Moseley Matheson is the Founder and Managing Partner at Matheson & Associates, PLLC. With experience on both sides of the North Carolina judicial system, Mr. Matheson has had a long and esteemed career as a lawyer. His passion for trial work started in law school, where he interned with the ACLU’s Capital Punishment Project and the Durham County Public Defender’s Office. The North Carolina Bar Association awarded him a Certificate of Recognition for his outstanding service with these organizations. He also interned with a Personal Injury firm while attending law school. Mr. Matheson assisted the principal attorney in personal injury and product liability cases ranging from a few thousand dollars to cases settling for well over a million-dollars. He went on to serve as an Assistant District Attorney for Harnett County before entering private practice as a trial attorney.
Mr. Matheson has spent over 15 years defending those who have negligently or intentionally injured others. Now, he wants to serve those who have been injured and deserve rightful compensation for someone else’s negligent or intentional acts. Attorney Matheson has handled thousands of cases in both district and superior court in North Carolina included numerous wins in bench and jury trials. Mr. Matheson is a sought-out speaker, writer, and thought leader on trial practices. He has been named among the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by the National Trial Lawyers Organization.
Moseley is a cum laude graduate of North Carolina Central University School of Law. He is an active member of the North Carolina Bar Association, the Wake County Bar Association, Tenth Judicial District Bar, the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, and The St. Andrew’s Society. He is licensed to practice law in all North Carolina state courts as well as the Eastern District of North Carolina’s federal courts and the Supreme Court of the United States. Outside of work, Moseley enjoys spending time with his wife, two daughters, and their rescue dog, restoring and fabricating cars, and volunteering with the Capital Area Teen Court program.
